Read Answers, Ask Questions! |
"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. -- Matthew 7:7-8 (ESV)
The Manchester church of Christ believes very strongly that God's word, the Bible, contains the answers for today. You see, although our chariots now have motors rather than horses and we wear jeans and suits rather than long robes, men and women today are pretty much the same as people of ancient time. We still all struggle with sin and suffering along with raising families and trying to live day to day with integrity and meaning. Indeed, critics who call the Bible out-of-date do so, not because it really has nothing to say to them, but simply because the Bible disagrees with them. The Bible contains eternal truths. Not just "my truth" or "your truth"--just truth. Truth, by definition, is something that is timeless, like 2 + 2 = 4 which won't change regardless of the calendar date.
Let's look at the Bible for the information so critical to our spiritual welfare. What about suffering? Does God exist? What is the church of Christ all about? What does the Bible say about different important (salvation) topics? Would you like to learn something more about Jesus? Resources are provided for your study. |
