God's Will For Marriages
Statements from God's Word concerning husbands and wives:
The creation of man and woman was considered "very good." Gen. 1:27,31
The wife is to be a helper to her husband. Gen. 2:18
Husbands and wives are to cleave to one another. Gen. 2:24
One purpose of marriage is to bear children. Gen. 4:1
God intended marriage to be a permanent and intimate bond. Matt. 19:5,6
Husbands are to rejoice with the wives of their youth. Prov. 5:15-19
Husbands and wives are not to defraud one another. 1 Cor. 7:2-9
